SMEs trainees receives livelihood starter kits

Municipal Mayor Elmer C. Untaran with the SME's beneficiaries in bakingTrainees for Small-Micro Enterprise (SME) receives starter kits from the Local Government Unit of San Jose de Buenavista. A total of 65 farmers and fisherfolks as well as their wives were beneficiaries and were trained to handle SMEs as their livelihood.

The beneficiaries were trained in dressmaking, welding, carinderia handling, ambulant vending, baking as well as fish and other food processing. The program aimed to improve the quality of processing and production of products through acquisition of appropriate, up-to-date and efficient processing or production tools that could result to higher income.

A total of Php 2,272,750 pesos was allotted for the livelihood kits. The project was a joint effort of the LGU and Department of Labor and Employment.◙
