Consuelo Foundation Board of Directors visits San Jose de Buenavista

LGU-San Jose de Buenavista under the leadership of Mayor Elmer C. Untaran with gratefulness, welcomed the Board of Directors from Consuelo Foundation spearheaded by Ms. Connie Lau as Chairperson.

The Board of Directors of Consuelo Foundation visited San Jose de Buenavista, Antique last January 18 and 19, 2017 which provided the opportunity for the BOD’s to experience and feel the community, verify the impact of the partnership to the Local Government Unit and thorough strengthened the link between the MLGU and various stakeholders as member of Municipal Council for the Protection of Children (MCPC).

On the 1st day, the Consuelo Foundation BOD’s visited the Let Us Care Foundation, Inc., and had an interaction with childrens and followed by a dinner-fellowship with the Municipal Officials headed by Mayor Elmer Untaran together with Vice Mayor Felix Saldajeno and Sangguniang Bayan Members.

The Board got the chance to visit the two pilot barangays (Fundalipe and Bgry.1) and had a conversation with Barangay Captain Abeto of Fundalipe and Encarnacion of Brgy. 1 having a recipient mothers and children of the Healthy Start Program in partnership with the Municipal Health Office headed by Dr. Melba Billones.

The 2nd day of visit includes the blessing of Tiripunan Kang Kabataan (A Crisis Intervention Unit for Children and Youth in Need of Special Protection) and a fellowship lunch and interaction with the members of the Municipal Council for the Protection of Children and Youth ChAMPPS (Child Advocates and Mobilizers for Protection and Participation) at Municipal Hall Activity Center San Jose de Buenavista.

San Jose de Buenavista, Antique is indeed honored and thankful for the Consuelo Foundation for the assistance in realizing the Community Engagement Program which aims to capacitate the Local Government and its Stakeholders in ensuring the protection, participation and total well-being of children, youth and families in San Jose de Buenavista.
